Nagpur: Air Marshal Sanjiv Ghuratia, VSM, and Air Vice Marshal V S Chaudhary, VSM, both posted at the Headquarters Maintenance Command (HQMC) in Vayusena Nagar, Nagpur, have been awarded with Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) at the hands of the President of India, Droupadi Murmu.
Both the officers were honoured during the Defence Investiture Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, on Wednesday.
Air Marshal Ghuratia is serving as Senior Maintenance Staff Officer (SMSO) in the HQMC whereas Air Vice Marshal Chaudhary is serving as Senior Air and Administrative Staff Officer at Vayusena Nagar. Both senior officers of the Indian Air Force have been honoured with AVSM for their distinguished service in their respective fields.
The ceremony was attended by Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, General Chief of Defence Staff Anil Chauhan PVSM, UYSM,AVSM, SM, VSM, and other senior officers o fIndian Armed Forces. The President of India conferred 92 distinguished service medals in which 57 were Ati Vishisht Seva Medals (AVSM), 5 were Uttam Yudh Seva Medals (UYSM) and 30 Param Vishisht Seva Medals (PVSM).
