Ahmedabad civic team pays visit to NMC to know 24X7 water supply, other schemes

A six-member delegation of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) paid a goodwill visit to Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and apprised itself about the ambitious 24X7 water supply scheme and other developmental projects being implemented in the city.

The delegation was led by AMC Standing Committee Chairman Parveen Bhai Patel which was on a two-day visit. Mayor Pravin Datke, Standing Committee Chief Sudhir (Bandu) Raut, and Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar welcomed them the AMC team by offering them bouquets and tulsi saplings. The AMC delegation also gifted a heritage photo to NMC office bearers. Pravin Datke appreciated the work in Ahmedabad city and hoped that both the cities will help each other for the development work. Datke also briefed about 24 x 7 water supply project and other projects.

The other members of the AMC delegation included Gujarat Municipal Corporation Water Works Committee Chairman Ramesh Desai, Deputy Commissioner (Project) Kishore Bachani, Special City Engineer (WRM) Jagdish Patel, Additional City Engineer (Water Works) Birenbhai Rawal, Assistant City Engineer Bhavesh Shaha and Assistant Engineer Ashutosh Khandelwal.

Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar informed the AMC team that its good schemes such as transport system, land management etc could be implemented in Nagpur as well.

Praveen Bhai Patel, elaborating on the city of Ahmedabad, said, ‘Iron Man of India’ and former Home Minister the late Vallabhbhai Patel laid the foundation of Ahmedabad city when he was President of Municipal Council. Similarly, the present Prime Minister Narendra Modi represented the city in State Legislature and carried out a slew of development works.
