Nagpur: An 80-year old woman was relieved of her gold chain when she went to a Navratri pandal for ‘darshan’ of Goddess Durga in Abhyankar Nagar here on Thursday. A miscreant in the crowd did the trick.
The elderly woman, Urmila Ramrao Gawande (80), resident of Abhyankar Nagar, near Cricket Ground, around 5 pm on Thursday went to Navratri pandal in the area to attend a religious programme. While Urmila was taking ‘darshan’ of Goddess Durga, a ruffian took advantage of the crowd and removed her gold chain worth Rs 25,000.
Ambazari PSI Meshram, based on Urmila’s complaint, has registered a case under Sections 392 of the IPC and searching the chain snatcher.
