Aged man, woman killed in 2 road accidents

Nagpur.

Two persons, a 72-year old man and 64-year old woman, were killed when they were hit by two rashly driven vehicles in separate incidents on Wednesday. Ironically, both the victims were returning home walking. No arrest has been made in this connection, yet.

In the first incident, Kunal Santoshrao Nimje (72), resident of Plot No. 28, Adivasi Colony, Manish Nagar, Nagpur, was returning home after purchasing grocery (kirana) around 6 pm on Wednesday. The aged Kunal was returning home walking. When he was nearing Annapurna Hotel in the area an unidentified three-wheeler hit him and ran away. Kunal was left with grievous injuries and was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital. However, doctors there pronounced Kunal brought dead.

Based on a complaint lodged by Mahadeo Santosh Nimje the Sonegaon PSI Neware has booked the unidentified three-wheeler driver under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC and Sub-Sections 134, 177, 184 of Motor Vehicles Act and searching for him.

In other incident, the elderly woman Pushpabai Jambuwant Dongre (64), resident of Shivnagar, opposite Durga Mandir, Nandanvan, was returning home walking at about 5 pm on Wednesday. When Pushabai reached near Rajeshwar Farsan (Sweet Shop), a speeding Honda Maestro (MH-49/M 5965) crashed into her and sped away. Pushpabai received serious injuries as a result of the hit. She was immediately taken to GMCH. However, Pushpabai succumbed to her injuries around 11.30 pm while undergoing treatment.

Nandanvan PSI Gajbhare, acting on a complaint filed by deceased Pushpabai’s son Ravindra, registered an offence against the Honda Maestro rider under Section 304(A) and launched a search to nab him.
