Nagpur: After the Bhartiya Janta Party’s Sandeep Gavai has won the NMC By-polls, the party has advised Shiv Sena to drop arrogance and has claimed that if the same is not done it will again experience defeat in future.

Averring that if Shiv Sena ditches the grand alliance in Maharashtra it will never win, BJP MP Kirit Somaiya said the seat (ward number 35-A) from where Gavai has won once belonged to Shiv Sena.

“Talk to Rahul baba and make your government,” Somaiya mocked Sena.

This comes after BJP’s Sandeep Gavai won Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s by-election from ward number 35-A.

Sandeep Gavai defeated Congress’ Pankaj Thorat.

The ward no 35-A seat of NMC fell vacant after the demise of the first-time corporator Nilesh Kumbhare. Kumbhare contested elections on the ticket of Republican Party of India (RPI) with support from BJP.
