After Diwali, shopping site tries to cash on ‘Black Friday’ in India

As if the Diwali shopping offers flooded over multiple ecommerce sites were not enough, yet another shopping excuse has been imported by an ecommerce major eBay to drive the Indian buyers towards crazy shopping mode. Come Black Friday – a customary shopping season in US which marks the beginning of shopping celebration till Christmas, and eBay would try to woo Indian buyers into into market place.

Globally, Black Friday will be celebrated on November 27, but eBay India has started offering huge discounts on international products from Friday, the company said in a statement.

The Black Friday sale will allow buyers in India to avail heavy discounts across categories such as electronics, lifestyle, home appliances, sports and fitness equipment, among others.

Indian consumers can avail up to 50% discount on fashion and lifestyle products and up to 45% on electronic items during the promotional period ending November 30.

“On eBay India we provide Indian consumers with direct and easy access to an unmatched options of deals and discounts being offered during Black Friday sale week in the US.

“Indian shoppers can now buy the world’s hottest labels and coolest brands from the comfort of their home at unbelievable Indian prices,” eBay India Head (Retail Exports and Lifestyle Category) Navin Mistry said.
