After delivering ‘Baby’, Akshay all set to ‘Airlift’!

Don’t mean anything mean by this headline! But we really mean what we are saying… Fresh from the success of his latest outing Baby, Bollywood’s action star Akshay Kumar will not fly on to his next project ‘Airlift’, the shooting for which will begin by the next of week of February.  The Khiladi of Bollywood has once again collaborated with ‘Baby’ producer Bhushan Kumar for ‘Airlift’. The film which will be shot in Bhuj, Gujarat will have Akshay Kumar playing Ranjit Katyal, a billionaire businessman who aids the high-profile rescue operation.

While Nimrat Kaur will essay the role of actor’s wife. Nimrat will share the screen with Akshay Kumar for the first time. Bhushan Kumar, producer T-Series, says, “The story is about Ranjit played by Akshay Kumar who helps in the world’s biggest human evacuation. We were looking for an actress with a strong persona to play his wife who will do justice to the strong emotional support to the lead character.”

“Nimrat did a really good job in her previous films and made a mark in the industry. I am happy she is on board for the role,” he added.

The film which deals with the real life incident of the biggest human evacuation process in Kuwait is scheduled to release in May.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar’s last release ‘Baby’ has raked in Rs 63.82 crore in one week.
