Afghan man, other killed in separate road accidents

Nagpur: Two persons, including an Afghan man, were killed in road accidents in separate areas on Sunday.

In the first incident, Surbul Khan (33), a native of Afghanistan but presently staying in Nagpur, was returning home from Kadbi Square around 4 pm on Sunday. When Surbul, riding a motorcycle (MH-31/DC 3998), reached near Mecosabagh Bridge, a speeding tipper rammed him with forceful impact. As a result, Surbul was hurled in the air and crashed on the road with a thud. He received fatal injuries and died on the spot. The tipper driver along with the vehicle fled the spot after the accident. It is reported that the deceased used to deal in blankets.

Based on the information, Jaripatka PSI S W Kinake has booked the unidentified tipper driver under Sections 279, 304(A) of IPC and mounted a search to nab him.

Similarly, an Activa rider lost control and dashed against an electric pole on road divider and died on the spot. The deceased, Nitin Suresh Verma (50), resident of Sitabuldi, was proceeding towards Dhantoli on his Activa (MH-49/Y 1982) around 11.30 pm on Sunday. As Nitin neared a Dargah in Kumbhartoli, he lost control over his vehicle and crashed onto an electric pole installed at the road divider. Nitin suffered grievous injuries and died on the spot.

Dhantoli API B B Salunkhe has registered a case against the deceased Nitin Verma under Sections 279, 337, 338, 304(A) of IPC and investigating the matter further.
