Adhigamya 2015 organized at Wainganga College of Engineering and Management

IMG_9511(1)Nagpur: Wainganga College of Engineering and Management has organized Adhigamya 2015. The program was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr D R Peshwe (Professor VNIT) and President of the program Dr M K Sharma (CEO, Bajaj Steel Industries Ltd) in the presence of Prof Somadatta Karanjekar (Jt Secretory, WBVS), Dr Manish Bihade (Principal, WCEM) and Dr Sunil Kemdeo (Vice Principal, WCEM). Students from various engineering institutes actively participated in the program. Adhigamya 2015 is an opportunity for the students to contribute towards the welfare of the society. The event was focused on delivering the technical expertise acquired by the students for the social benefits.

Dr Peshwe advised students on converting waste into best to cater the education needs of the children in villages. He praised the management of WCEM for focusing on social issues of farmers living in villages. Dr Sharma addressed budding engineers on converting problems into opportunities through their engineering excellence. He focused students on the need of multitasking to achieve the goals.

Adhigamya 2015 included two sub events namely An Ultimate Indian and Poster Competition. An Ultimate Indian consists the presentation of work done by the students for the benefits of the society. In Poster Competition, student submitted poster, sketches, Banner etc, to highlight the solutions of social issues in a positive manner. Program also included cultural events and sports.

IMG_9997The Awards included four categories namely Dr B B Karanjekar Best Teacher Award which goes to Prof Abhay Satmohankar, WCEM Best Researcher Award which goes to Prof Garima Singh Makhija, Dr Mrs V B Karanjekar Best Student Award which goes to Priyanka Bhoyer and WCEM Student Entrepreneur Award which goes to Ankit Tiwari.

The first prize for ‘An Ultimate Indian’ goes to participants from Laxmi Narayan Institute of Technology, second to WCEM and third to Govindrao Wanjari Engineering College.

The first prize for ‘Poster Competition’ goes to WCEM, second to from Laxmi Narayan Institute of Technology and Tulsiramji Gaikwad Patil College obtained third prize.

Prof Garima Singh (Coordinator – Student Welfare Cell) gave vote of thanks while all the teaching and non teaching staff including Abhilash Dhoble (Student Representative) took extra efforts to make the program successful.
