Veteran actor Rita Bhaduri passed away on Tuesday morning. The actor, who was last seen as Imarti Devi in Star Bharat’s TV show Nimki Mukhiya, was 62. She was hospitalised from last 10 days and had been ailing for a while now.
Raazi actor Shishir Sharma took to his Facebook account to share the news of her demise. He wrote, “We deeply regret to inform you that Reeta Bhaduri has departed for her journey beyond. The funeral rites will be held on 17th July, Tuesday at 12 noon at the Cremation Ground, Parsi Wada Road, Parshiwada, Chakala, Andheri East. Extremely sad.. lost a wonderful human being .. a mother to many of us.. will miss u Ma…” Later he told indianexpress.com, “She had been ailing for a while now and was hospitalised 10 days before her demise.”
In her over three decades-long career in the entertainment industry, Rita acted in over 70 movies like Raja, Julie, Beta, Dil Vil Pyar Vyar, and 30 TV shows including Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Choti Bahu, Kumkum, Khichdi and many others.
Shiwani Chakraborty, who plays Rekha in Nimki Mukhiya said, “I will really miss her. More than a co-actor, she was a great human being. She was a warm person and her smile was so vibrant. We used to talk for hours. I have learnt lot of things from her. One primary teaching being that you need to always be positive. She loved her work and encouraged us to do the same. It’s a really sad news for the entire team.”
After the news of the demise of the veteran actor broke out, the television industry expressed their condolences on social media. Actor Vivek Dahiya tweeted, “Woke up to this news! A brilliant actress and a quintessential mother on screen. Saddened and at loss of words! #RIP #RitaBadhuri.”
Salil Sand wrote, “It saddens me to inform you all that actress #RitaBhaduri is no more. Besides being a great actor, she was a great human being. May her soul rest in peace.” Actor Manoj Bajpayee tweeted, “भगवान स्वर्गीय रीता जी की आत्मा को शांती प्रदान करे।”
Rita was suffering from a serious kidney ailment.
