Nagpur News : Varying statements of Santosh Patil, arrested for kidnapping and murder of Sahil alias Yash Borkar on Tuesday has baffled he investigation by Sonegaon police team. Police sources informed that sometimes he claimed the murder for ransom and sometimes for his mother’s well being.
A fifth standard student Sahil was abducted on Monday afternoon while he was playing near his residence at Khapri. Patil was arrested on Tuesday early morning. After six hours of interrogation, he took cops to Sahil’s body covered by heap of stones in an open area near MIHAN over bridge.

Patil, who was given police custody till June 16, claimed during interrogations that he puja which he had performed after killing Sahil was for his mother’s well being. Sources told that Patil said that he offered flowers, some sweets as Prasad to lord after the murder.
“It has been learnt that giving intoxicated liquor to the boy before killing him was a part of his ritual,” informed police source.
However, senior police inspector Tukaram Wahile denied any such varying statements given by Patil during interrogations.
Many times, Patil also claimed that he did the crime for ransom of Rs 2 lakhs. Initially, he told that he wanted the money for treatment of his cancer patient mother. He also told that he wanted to continue his studies. Police are also probing the case in other different angles including of an argument between Sahil’s father Nitin Borkar and Patil taken months ago.
Police said that Patil had told that his father has expired. However, it was revealed in the investigation that his father is alive.
“We have sent a police team to his native place which he told as Risod in Washim. We are yet to check whether his mother is suffering from cancer or not,” said Wahile. Cops even doubt whether Santosh Patil is his original name.
Cops are searching his rented room near Khapri railway line to find his identity proof and other clues.
