ACB scores century of prized catches with 101 arrests of Govt babus accepting bribes in 2014

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Nagpur Police has scored a century, in style. The century of laying traps and subsequently nabbing Government servants who demanded and accepted bribes of different amounts in the period from January 2104 to September 10, 2014. The catching of a Block Development Officer of Jivti Panchayat Samiti in Chandrapur District on Wednesday, September 10 turned out be 101st catch of the year for Nagpur ACB, till now. The Block Development Officer Vishwas Salame was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 15,000 on the basis of a complaint lodged by a Gramsevak of the same Panchayat Samiti. The prized catches of ACB this year include 11 Class-1 Officers, 12 Class-2 Officers, 83 Class-3 Employees, 1 Class-4 Employee, and 14 other Government and Private personnel.

Similarly, in the same period i.e. from January 2013 to September 10, 2013, a total of 51 traps were successful. In comparison, the number of traps this year has witnessed a stallion jump. This jump was direct result of awareness campaigns and other ventures launched by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Nagpur Police, said a press release.
