Academic Council ayes Special Examination for 6616 students from 63 banned colleges

The Academic Council of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) in its meeting held on June 26, 2014 gave its consent and passed a resolution for conducting the Special Examination for the 6616 students from 63 banned colleges. The State Government on June 11, 2014 had directed the University to regularize and conduct Special Examination of these students.

The members of the Academic Council had deliberations on the issue during the meeting, following which the resolution was passed for conducting the special examination.

RTMNU Media Coordinator Shyam Dhond while briefing the press informed that a special ordinance will have to be passed for conducting the special examination. The resolution passed in the Academic Council meeting will be sent to the Management Council, Board of Examination and Governor’s office for their consent. Once, their consent is received, a special ordinance to this effect will be passed for conducting the Special Examination.

The resolution passed in the Academic Council meeting will also be placed for hearing in the High Court bench in the next scheduled hearing on July 1, 2014.

Committee formed to look onto the issue of 50% Varsity approved teachers on roll

The issue of 50 % University approved teachers on roll in various colleges was also discussed at length during the meeting. A committee was formed under the Chairmanship of Dr. Baban Taywade. This committee will give its report in next seven days. The committee comprises of Dr. Ravindra Kshirsagar , Dr. Yeole, Dr. Madhuri Nasre, Dr. Sanjay Dhanwate and BCUD Director Dr. Shrikant Komawar.
