Delhi/ Nagpur.

Delhi police, after a long irritating as well as confusing drama of arrest of Former AAP leader Yogendra Yadav by the police administration during late night hours of Monday, released him (Yogendra Yadav) and his three supporters by Tuesday afternoon. The police termed his arrest as a preventive measure as the whole Delhi was placed under 144 Cr PC due to ensuing Independence Day preparations.

It may be mentioned that Yogendra Yadava was protesting at Jantar-Mantar against Modi government’s controversial land bill and various other harrowing issues relating farmers and citizens, but despite peaceful agitation he was arrested by Delhi police.
After his release, Yadav alleged that he was slapped by police at police station, abused and also threatened by police. He termed his arrest as a conspiracy against him.

His police arrest was criticized by Congress leader Digvijay Singh and AAP leader as well as Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejariwal, who remarked that the police brutality against peaceful agitation was most unfortunate.
