Nagpur: A delegation of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) unit North Nagpur, handing over a memorandum to assistant sub-divisional officer, in the office of SDO, Nagpur, on Aug 20, demanded that the rain-affected citizens who had suffered loss to property during torrential rains of August 13, 2015 be compensated by government immediately.
The AAP activists of North Nagpur personally met the rain-affected citizens of Sangharsh Nagar, Gulshan Nagar, Samta Nagar, Takshila Nagar and Juna Kalmana Basti and extended help to them in terms of necessary medicines, food items and drinking water. They expressed their resentment against government apathy in helping the rain-affected citizens.
The memorandum urges the government to honestly conduct survey of the beneficiaries and expedite the necessary help to the affected. In case the government fails to provide timely help to the needy within a week, the AAP would intensify its stir under Art. 21 of the Constitution in which fundamental rights of individuals have been enshrined, the delegation warned in the memorandum.
It may mentioned that the city unit of AAP activists has been carrying out a drive to personally contact citizens and know their problems in order to sort them out with all possible efforts.
