Aadhi Aabadi Women’s Volleyball Cup-2017 begins with all its Glory!

Nagpur: The latest edition of Aadhi Aabadi Volleyball Cup-2017 was flagged off at Nagpur today, by MLA Sunil Kedar. The entire tournament consists of 8 state teams and shall be conducted in phases in 4 different cities – Nagpur, Patna, Pune and Bangalore. There will be a total of 15 matches in four cities. For the first time in the country, women’s volleyball players are going to get a new stage. Aadhi Aabadi Volleyball Cup (AAVC) where half of the population will see the world through volleyball that they have enough breath. AAVC will start from June 9, 2017at the Divisional Sports Complex of Nagpur by Aadhi Aabadi foundation.

Aadhi Aabadi Volleyball Cup has been organized with a vision to boost the spirit of health and fitness in the daily life of every woman which is an essence of a healthy nation. Though women have proved themselves proficient in managing their household and professional life, sports and fitness are generally neglected. Girls and women who play sports have higher levels of confidence and self-esteem. India is coming up with modern lifestyle and aggressive progression, so this game is a reflection of the theme and vision especially among Indian urban and modern women. AAVC is prepared to boost the energy in every Indian woman’s life.

Dinesh Kumar Singh, Founder & CEO of Aadhi Aabadi Foundation said, “The vision of AAVCup- 2017 is to promote fitness and well-being for Indian women. By promoting this wholesome sport amongst women, we are hoping for a positive change in their lives. The 8 teams have been specifically handpicked and formed with the best players. All the teams are highly efficient and shall display their talents to enthrall the country wide audience”.

AAVCup-2017 comprises of 8 teams – Bengal Tigress, Bihar Challengers, Chennai Queens, Delhi Panthers, Haryana Strikers, Maratha Warriors, Uttrakhand Smashers and UP Thunders. The first match shall take place on 9th June 2017 at Nagpur and will be between Haryana Strikers and Uttrakhand Smashers, matches will be followed by Semi Final at Pune on 23rd June, 2017 and Final at Bangaluru on 25th June, 2017.

The Foundation is providing a platform for women’s Volleyball players to empower women, where we have been feeding international, national and emerging women players from all over the country on a single platform. Dinesh K. Singh said that all these matches have been taken from the Permissionebal Association and the Volleyball Federation of India (VFI). All these matches will be broadcast live on the Neo Sports / Neo Prime Channel. He also added that the AAVC will begin from Nagpur and the closing will be on June 25 with the final match in Bangalore.
