A Noble gesture “Project Netranjali” saved 2500 people from Blindness

The majority of the blind people found in India.The 80% of the eye-patient could be prevented from blindness by taking proper care at an early stage. Mere ignorance and absence of awareness led them to the blindness which can not be equated with any compensation. Taking this view in mind RPG Foundation and KEC International Ltd. In its CSR initiative under the Leadership of Rajesh Koolwal Vice President Manufacturing KEC Supply Chain started “Project Netranjali ” aims to provide preventive eye care focusing on “vision eye check up and eye care ” for Children, Elders, Villegers, poor and economically backward class of the society who can not afford medical services and avoide the early stage check-up. SHARP is the implementing partner for the same.Under this project eye screening of the community people and school children done through coputerized machine and spectacles distributed free of cost as per number.

The Spectacles distribution program was held in the KEC Training Centre, MIDCButibori on 25.12.2016 and 100 people from Kinhi and Bidganeshpur Village received the spectacles free of cost.

The project targeted for the fy. 2016-17 is to reach 5000 people eye screening and upto 2500 spectacles are planned to be given for free to avoide the blindness. Upto Dec. 3000 eye screening completed and 1500 spectacles are distributed to the community people and school children under the program.

Arvind Giri CSR Lead KEC given the report of the program and said, KEC try to protect the community people and school children from the blindness by eye care and providing free spectacles R.K.Suryavanshi Head KEC Training Centre was the Chief guest of the program and said,” Proper use of spectacles and eye care help in improving the eye vision”.

Shobha Bisen Gramanchayat Sadasya Kinhi and Dinesh Raut Shikshan Samiti Adhyaksha Bidganeshpur said, they are thankful to the KEC International Ltd. for providing free spectacles to the village people under its csr initiative and always there for support for village development.
