Nagpur: It is said that “Women are the symbol of power, God’s finest and beautiful creation without whom, no creation is possible”. March 8 of every year is celebrated to salute the struggles of women worldwide as Intrnational Women’s Day.

Dedicated to the spirit of womanhood, Sadabai Raisoni Women’s College celebrated women’s day in a very entertainment filled manner. In order to celebrate International Women’s Day an event titled aptly as Prerna-2016 was organized in the college which was inaugurated by Principal of St. Ursula Girls High School and Junior College Rachna Singh and Principal of SRWC Amina Vali.  The venue of the event was decorated with the posters and slogans made by students based on the theme of Women’s Day.

The Students participated wholeheartedly with great enthusiasm and gaiety. For once even the mothers of the students got to join in the celebrations of International Women’s Day.

Many stalls that were put-up at the venue had both moms and daughters jointly managing the stalls of eatables and games etc. While some of the students were selling handmade quilling (a type of ornamental craftwork involving the shaping of paper, fabric, or glass into delicate pleats or folds) articles like greeting cards, photo frames, necklaces, and earrings.

Maaushi’s of the College were not left behind they also took initiative to put-up stall of Aloo Bhaat and Kadi.

Gals of final year wore traditional dresses including beautiful and colourful sarees for ramp walk. The event was filled with joy and happiness enjoyed by one and all.
