Mayor Pravin Datke on Friday released the book “Sitabardichi Ladhayi,” the Marathi version of Dr S M Ayachit’s original English book “Battle of Sitabuldi.” The book release function was held at Mayor’s chamber in NMC’s Central Office in Civil Lines. The book is written on the historic battle of Nagpur at Sitabuldi and various other historic aspects of the armed struggle.
“The book ‘Sitabardichi Ladhayi’ should be read by every citizen for knowing the culture of Nagpur. The book contains November 26 & 27, 1817 battle fought in Sitabuldi in details and the happenings of occurred thereafter in Nagpur. The fantastic book will prove very inspiring for students and readers of History,” said the Mayor.

At the outset, Mayor Datke felicitated the writer of the book Dr Sadashiv Ayachit by offering him shawl, shreephal, NMC’s Memorabilia and sapling of Tulsi. Present on the occasion include Chairman of Standing Committee Ramesh Shingare, Corporators Sunil Agrawal, Chhotu Bhoyar, Deputy Commissioner Z R Siddiqui, Deputy Director (Health) Dr Milind Ganvir, Chief Accounts and Finance Officer Madan Gadge, District Information Officer Anil Thakre, Kamalesh Rathi, former lecturer of Archaeology Department Dr Chandrashekhar Gupt, and other prominent personalities.
