Nagpur: A 60 year old careless woman extended an ‘open’ invitation to burglars by keeping the door of her house ajar. Taking advantage of the open door the unidentified burglar(s) relieved the woman of gold-silver jewellery and cash collectively valued at Rs 3,92,950. Cops are now searching the thief.
The careless woman Asha Anant Labhe (60), resident of Shakti Palace Ground Floor, Shilpa Society, Sonegaon, went to the first floor of the apartment for some work on Saturday. But Asha made a grave mistake by not locking the door of her house which ultimately proved costly for her. Taking advantage of the ‘open’ door, unidentified burglar(s) entered Asha’s house and straightaway went to bedroom. The accused housebreaker grabbed the gold-silver jewellery and cash of Rs 15,750 and decamped without coming in the notice of any other dwellers. Asha was relieved of booty collectively valued at Rs 3,92,950.
On the basis of Asha’a complaint, Sonegaon PSI Neware registered an offence against the unidentified accused thief under Section 380 of IPC and probing the matter further.
