With 2 more deaths in Nagpur, Maharashtra toll mounts to 112

Nagpur/Mumbai: Nine more deaths due to swine flu were reported in Maharashtra today, raising the death toll due to H1N1 virus to 112.

“Nine deaths were reported today, two each from Pune and Nagpur and one each from Nashik, Osmanabad, Latur, Ahmednagar and Raigad districts,” a health official said.

So far, there have been 1221 cases, and as many as 46 people infected by H1N1 virus are on ventilator, he said.

“Total number of patients discharged is 698 while 366 are still in hospitals and 166 new cases have been reported,” the official said.

According to Food and Drug Administration officers, that hospitals in the state, both government and semi-government, have sufficient stock of swine flu medicine which is available for free.
