The Maha-Prasad meet was a much awaited one at the Chakravorty’s, this being the first grand festival for the newly-wed Satyajeet and Urmi Chakravorty Mittra. The couple took off this one at Urmi’s maika!
The irony was, that in spite of the celebration being at Maika, Urmi’s mom and dad were absent throughout the festival, laying the entire responsibility on the couple. The couple followed all the rituals, be it the ‘Ganpati Sthapna’ (Establishment of the idol) and welcoming of the Lord, Aarti (auspicious ritual of fire) and all other rituals, in place of their mom-dad, proving the auspicious days to be blissful ones.
However, the credits for the beautiful set-up of Ganpati Mandir got hauled by Abhijeet Majumdar along with the decoration by ‘Da Funky Prop Shop’ group!
The idol placed inside a semi-coconut shaped prop looked endearing. In-laws, the Mittras turned up to bless the couple, and have the Prasad.
All the pretty ladies in their Indian attire became a part of the festivity gracefully. However the newly-wed pulled most eye-balls in their matching attires in style, colour and so the elegance with a typical ‘Bengali’ touch to it.
One of the friends, Benny Alexander being new to the rituals stated, “Being a Christian, performing these rituals myself was worth cherishing.”
