With the growing populace and advancement towards modernity, the city has exponentially grown in crime chart too. And the latest to add the dark and notorious world of Nagpur crime is illegal transportation of minor girls to force them into prostitution at Ganga Jamuna, the red light area in Itwari here. In a remarkable achievement Lakadganj police have managed to net the woman pimp whom they were looking for since past few months. The woman had earlier escaped the cops’ net in similar such incident in which she was found involved in selling a 16 year old girl at Ganga Jamuna.
Meanwhile the police sensed a whiff of some untoward activities in the flesh trade and laid its trap on a woman who was later arrested for her alleged involvement in human trafficking. The woman has allegedly lured many minor girls into flesh trade at Ganga Jamuna for quite some time, police said.
The accused woman who earlier introduced herself as Reshma has been identified as Laxmi Ramkrishna Kalkhor (35), a native of Gwalior. Police said, Laxmi made fake promise of job to minor girls from various native states and brought to city. However, the woman then sold the girl in Ganga Jamuna and forced them in flesh business. When Lakadganj police got a tip off of the woman, they planned to nab the woman and finally arrested her on Monday evening.

Cops have registered an offence under sections 344, 366 (a), 372, 373, and 34 of the IPC read with sub sections 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.
In the earlier incident Assistant Police Inspector (API) Ravi Rathod of Lakadganj Police Station and his team raided ground floor of Billo Kalkhor building situated in Ganga-Jamuna area at about 1850 hours on Saturday (August 9). The police team found the woman pimp Reshma, after luring the 16-year old girl with handsome money, was forcing her to indulge in flesh trade in the premises. API Rathod and his team immediately rescued the minor girl from the hell. However, Reshma ala Lakshmi managed to give a slip to police and vanished from the spot.
