Nagpur News : The Crime Branch of Nagpur City Police along with Enforcers of Intellectual Property Rights (EIPR) conducted a market sweep raid on five shops at Sitabuldi and Dhantoli and seized duplicate products that were being sold under the brand name of Hewlett-Packard (HP) on July 10, 2014. During the raid, the EIPR representatives and the cops came across duplicate packed toners and packed ink cartridges that were being sold under the brand name of HP. The sum total of all the seized products were worth Rs. 2,74,684/-.
According to information, the EIPR officials came to the city on July 10, 2014 and approached DCP Crime Branch Sunil Kohle and reported of the duplicate products of HP Company. DCP Kohle in-turn immediately constituted a team which included PI Pawar of Social Security Branch of Nagpur Police. They raided the shops and business establishment named Globe Trading Company which was selling duplicate HP products and arrested the owner Bhushan Kumar Asudhram Khubchandani aged 51 years.
Gayatri Computers was one of the priority targets during the market sweep action but no counterfeit HP material was seized from the specified shop. At the time the Crime Branch raided four other shops namely Globe Trading Co, Sharma Computers, Pal.Com Systems and Sangam Computers. The fake products worth over Rs. 2,74,684/- were seized from Globe Trading Co and one person has been arrested in this connection. The FIR has been lodged at Sitabuldi Police Station. The raid was conducted with the help of DCP Kohle of Crime Branch, Police Inspector of SSB PI Pawar and Staff of the Crime Branch, Nagpur City.
