Man booked for Rs 26.32 lakh fraud

Nagpur News : Gittikhadan police have booked a property dealer for misleading the complainant and fraudulently selling house which was not on the name of the accused. The dealer had taken Rs 26.32 lakh from the complainant between May 24, 2012 and May 7 this year.

According to the complaint filed by Ajay Harishchandra Chahande (42), the accused pretended to own many property lands at Somalwada. He convinced the complainant to invest in the land, which he portrayed to be his. The accused Mohd Zaheen Khan Mohd Mateen Khan, Welcome Society, Borgaon resident then forged documents of the land and sold it to Ajay. He kept taking money from Ajay on the name of various formalities and till May 7 this year, he pocketed Rs 26.32 lakh from the complainant.

However, when Ajay got wind of the fraud, he tried to confront the accused, but he avoided Ajay’s calls and meeting. Thus, after being sure that he had been duped, Ajay lodged a complaint with Gittikhadan police on Wednesday.

Cops have registered an offence under 420, 468, and 471 of the IPC against the accused and launched a massive manhunt for him.
