Elderly man killed in road accident

Nagpur: A 65-year-old cyclist breathed his last in the hospital after he was hit by a rashly driven truck on Friday late night. The accident took place near Maruti Showroom, Jaripatka on Friday at around 10 pm.

The elderly man Anand Kashinath Dongre, aged 65 and a resident of Pilli Nadi was returning home on his bicycle when a speeding truck (MH 40 Y 4614) hit the cyclist from read and left him seriously injured. The driver, fearing consequences, ran away from the spot. Commuters rushed the injured Anand to Indira Gandhi Government College and Hospital where doctors declared him dead after preliminary treatment.

Jaripatka police reached the spot and started investigations. They have registered an offence under Section 279, 338, 304 (a) of the IPC against the unidentified truck and have assured to zero in on the culprit.
