The city’s upscale gardens are fast becoming commercial zones for the caretakers who have gradually lent these common people’s places of recreation to private hands. The trend has made these gardens hard to enter, thanks to its escalating fees on every move visitors make into these gardens. After fully commercializing Children’s Traffic Park, the NMC authorities have taken a step ahead and all set to make Ambazari Garden inaccessible to commoners. Confirming the development sources informed that plans have been formulated to reshape Ambazari Garden on the lines of Anand Sagar in Shegaon. Official tenders to this effect will be released within a week, sources said.
Nagpur Today had in its report on November 5, 2013 detailed on the plan to revamp Amabazari Garden, taking it beyond common people’s reach. The current situation at Children’s Traffic Park tells the entire tale. Contrary to the earlier situation when any family would make up to this garden just by paying up entry fees, many paid amusements have been established inside the garden which makes the visitors to cough up heavy fees at every step. Whether it’s multi-dimensional shows, horror show, tram rides or some other swings – all the features now make it costly affair for the visitors entering this park. Sources revealed that documents were fudged to transport this park to the current status.

Now the only park left for commoners – Ambazari Garden is on the way to go special and in future would require the visitors to cough up many times more money to get hands on with this garden. It is learnt that city’s prominent restaurant chain Haldiram Group had initiated the move to take over Ambazari Garden but somehow the plans did not materialize then.
Now with the fresh take on Ambazari Garden, the things appeared sure shot to develop this 44 acres of which 25 acres space is currently occupied by the garden. Besides developing the garden on the lines of Anand Sagar, plans are also afoot to float water sports facility in Ambazari lake.
The Nagpur citizens would certainly miss the grandeur of the Ambazari Garden and would be deprived of real and free entertainment once the business plans of the Ruling Party in NMC is executed.
