Burglars make hay while youth was away; takes away Rs 3.82 lakh booty

A youth paid heavily for attending a relative’s marriage ceremony as burglars broke into his house and looted cash and valuables worth Rs 3.82 lakh. According to Pratap Nagar police, the burglary took place between Thursday and Friday.

Resident of Sindhi Colony, Khamla Nitin Harish Meerchandani (26) locked his house and left to attend the marriage ceremony of his relative at Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, burglars broke into the house and looted cash Rs 70,000 and gold ornaments collectively worth Rs 3.82 lakh from the amirah. Nitin was shocked to discover the theft after returning from Ahmedabad.

He lodged a complaint with Pratap Nagar police station who registered an offence under Sections 454, 457 and 380 of the IPC against the unidentified thieves.
