9-year-old boy found dead in car

Nagpur News: Mhada Quarter residents witnessed a sight, which no parents want to witness. A 9-year-old boy, who went missing on Sunday, was found dead in a car in Mhada Quarter premises on Tuesday.

According to preliminary information, Umesh Gupta went missing on Sunday when he had gone to play in Hislop College ground. He never returned back home which stressed his parents. They searched for him and finally lodged a complaint with Sitabuldi police when they were unable to find him. Umesh, son of Usha and Mehilal Gupta, was a resident of Vasantrao Naik slums, near Bhole Petrol Pump.

Sources said, on Tuesday, Umesh was found dead in a car in Mhada Quarters premises. His body was dumped in the space below the steering. The spread like a jungle fire in the area and panic stricken public started gathering in the premises. Sitabuldi police have reached the spot and strted investigation. However, no information about how the car was carried in the premises or reason of Umesh’s death were known to police till filing of the report.
