4 money-lenders booked for abetting suicide of a man in Ganeshpeth

Nagpur: Ganeshpeth police have booked four illegal money-lenders on the charges of abetting suicide of a 42-year old man over money dispute.

The deceased Mohd Bakir Jainul Obedin Lohawala (42), resident of Shantinagar, had on February 20, 2019, committed suicide by consuming some poisonous stuff. Mohd Bakir consumed the arsenic stuff on a road in front of Savarkar Hospital in Ganeshpeth police jurisdiction around 11 pm on February 20.

As his condition deteriorated, he was admitted in Savarkar Hospital where he died around 5.20 am of February 21 while undergoing treatment. At that time, Ganeshpeth police had registered a case of accidental death and started investigation.

During the probe, cops recovered a suicide note from the pocket of deceased Mohd Bakir. According to the suicide note, the four accused Ghanshyam Gupta, Bajrang Gupta, Madan Rahate and Sudarshan Gupta had given a loan to Mohd Bakir through Bhisi and illegal money-lending sources. However, even after Mohd Bakir returning the entire loan money, the four accused tormented him mentally and physically. Fed up with the torture, Mohd Bakir committed suicide.

Ganeshpeth PSI Nannaware, based on the probe and a complaint lodged by Yakuta Mohd Bakir Lohawala (40), booked the four accused under Sections 306, 34 of the IPC and started further investigation.
