Actor Diana Penty who will soon be seen in the sequel of Happy Bhag Jayegi says essaying a comic role is quite a challenge for her, but she loves playing such characters as it helps her grow as an artiste. During an interview with news agency IANS, Diana talked about the same and said, “I think comedy is different to perform because maintaining the spontaneity is a task.”

Talking about the difficulties she faced while shooting for her next Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, Diana said, “Especially when we are doing a situational comedy film like ‘Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi’ which is filled with one liners, it is important to maintain the spontaneous energy all the time. since it is scripted and there are times when we do a lot of taking of the same shot, the spontaneity might go down”.

In Diana’s six-years in the Bollywood industry, she has experimented with several different roles, from playing the girl next door Meera, in Cocktail, then a loud Punjabi girl Harpreet in Happy Bhag Jayegi to playing the role of Captain Ambalika in her recent release Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran. She even said that as an actor she has to hold on to “that energy; that is challenging”.

In her upcoming film Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, Diana will once again essay the role of Harpreet (Happy) Kaur in the film. Asked if bringing back the same character on screen was tough, she said, “Initially I thought so because we shot the first one in 2015.

It is almost three years now, but I think once I started reading the script again, that character came back to me… That loudness, madness of Happy!” The new addition to the film is actress Sonakshi Sinha. Diana expressed her experience on working with Sonakshi and said, “Though I knew her, somehow we had never spoken… So, we first properly met during the shooting of our film. She is lovely and down to earth… There was a oneness on set among all of us”.

The film features Sonakshi Sinha, Diana Penty, Jimmy Sheirgill, Jassie Gill, Ali Fazal and Piyush Mishra in pivotal roles. The writer-director of the film Mudassar Aziz will take the second part of the film to another level with quirky jokes which will take the audience on a fun ride.

Managing Director of Eros International Sunil Lulla had earlier talked about the film and said in a statement, “Like its predecessor, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi will hugely entertain audiences with twice the madness and fun”. Mulk is now slated to release on August 24.
