Nagpur: In an audacious act, a gang of 5-6 masked dacoits struck at Godegaon Branch of UCO Bank near Kanhan and looted Rs 7 lakh at gun and knife point. After the loot, the dacoits took with them the DVR of CCTV camera in order to destroy evidence and hide their identity.

The incident took place around 5 pm on Friday. Godegaon Branch of UCO Bank is 8 kilometre away from Kanhan Town. On being informed about the dacoity, Kanhan cops, sleuths of Nagpur Rural Local Crime Branch and SP Shailesh Balkawde reached the spot and started investigations.
The SP Balkawde, talking to Nagpur Today, said that three teams of Local Crime Branch along with five teams of Kanhan police have been formed to trace and nab the dacoits. A team of Cyber Cell is also helping the cops. The dacoits will be apprehended soon, he said.
