Cops nab two bike-borne burglars, crack house-breaking cases

Mankapur police cracked a number of house-breaking cases and arrested two bike-borne accused. Cops have recovered gold ornaments, cash and two-wheelers collectively valued at Rs 2.33 lakh.

A patrolling squad of Mankapur Police Station spotted two suspicious persons riding a bike on Thursday night. The policemen chased the two motorcycle riders and succeeded in nabbing them. When asked about their identity, the two riders disclosed their names as Moseen alias Sanu Khan Sheikh Gaffar (29) and Mohd Shahbaz alias Ghungru Mohd Salim (21), both residents of Old Kamptee. When the cops searched the dicky of the bike (MH-31/AL 6496), they found a pen-torch, iron rod, a knife to be used in house-breaking. Both the accused were brought to the police station and subjected to intense questioning. The two accused buckled under the pressure and spilled the beans. They confessed committing three house-breakings and three other thefts at various places. Subsequently, the residents of the two accused were searched that led to recovery of stolen gold ornaments, cash and two-wheelers collectively worth Rs 2.33 lakh.


Mankapur cops booked the duo Moseen alias Sanu Khan Sheikh Gaffar and Mohd Shahbaz alias Ghungru Mohd Salim under Sections 457, 380 of the IPC and placed them under arrest. Both are under Police Custody Remand and are being questioned further to verify their role in more cases of thefts.

The task was accomplished by Senior PI P N Bhatkar, Second PI S V Chavan, API G P Raut, ASI Dnyaneshwar Shende, NPC Santosh Rathod, police sepoys Rajesh Warthi, Hitesh Farkunde, Roshan Wadibhasme, and Sunil Vishwakarma under the guidance of In-charge DCP Zone 2 Deepali Masirkar, ACP (Sadar Division) Somnath Waghchaure.
