Nagpur: A man was crushed to death and his daughter injured when a speeding truck hit their Activa moped on Umred in Nandanvan area here on Wednesday afternoon. The driver of the killer truck fled the spot along with his vehicle and is being hunted.
The deceased Uday Shankarnaval Kishoreprasad Singh (43) and his daughter Charul Uday Singh (19), residents of 32B, Dighori, Ramkrishna Nagar, were going towards Mata Mandir, Dighori Square, on their Activa moped (MH-49/AF 6402) on Wednesday afternoon. Midway when the father-daughter duo reached near Adarsha Nagar on Umred Road around 2.15 pm, a speeding truck rammed their two-wheeler from behind with an impact. As a result, Uday and Charul fell on the road. Charul received injuries on her left leg and eye but Uday came under the wheels of the truck and died on the spot. The driver of the truck fled the spot along with his vehicle fearing backlash from the nearby residents.
