Nagpur: The immersion of eco-friendly idol of Ganpati Bappa installed at the residence of Mayor Pravin Datke in Dakshinamurti Square, Mahal, was done at an artificial tank placed near Chitnis Park. His wife Pravada, mother Pratibha and daughter Narayani were present on the occasion.
The Mayor performed puja, aarti and other religious rituals before immersing the Lord Ganesh idol at the artificial tank.
He thanked all the citizens who immerses the idols only in the artificial tanks placed at various vantage points across the city in order to prevent pollution of water bodies. “This sent a good message and brought laurels to city,” Mayor said.
