
Nagpur: Panic gripped the city after unidentified miscreants suddenly attacked a city bus near Lakadganj Police Station on Thursday. The incident occurred when the bus was travelling from Vardhaman Nagar towards Lakadganj.
According to police sources, two unidentified individuals approached the moving bus and struck its front windshield and side window repeatedly with a hammer. The sudden assault left the driver and passengers terrified. Acting swiftly, the driver pulled the bus to the side of the road and safely evacuated all passengers.
Investigators found a pamphlet at the spot bearing the message “Halba Ekta Zindabad.” Police said the incident could be linked to the ongoing protest by the Halba community, which has entered its sixth day, though the exact motive is still under investigation.
A special team has been formed to trace the attackers and initiate strict action. Police are scanning CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the culprits. The attack has created a sense of fear among commuters and residents in the vicinity.
