Nagpur: Lokrajya, the official publication of the Maharashtra Government and a treasure of the State’s political, social, and administrative history spanning over seven decades, is set to become easily accessible in digital format. The announcement was made by Brijesh Singh, Principal Secretary and Director General of the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations (DGIPR), while inaugurating an exhibition of rare issues of Lokrajya on the sidelines of the Winter Session of the Maharashtra Legislature in Nagpur.
As part of the launch, 50 rare digitised editions of the magazine were formally unveiled. The exhibition at the Vidhan Bhavan premises was attended by Ajay Bhosale (In-charge Deputy Secretary), Kishor Gangurde (Director, Administration), Ganesh Mule (Director, Nagpur Division), Govind Ahankari (Director, News), Yuvraj Soregaonkar (Section Officer), Vinod Rapatwar (District Information Officer), and other senior officials.
Since the formation of Maharashtra, Lokrajya has meticulously documented key decisions in public welfare, transformative administrative developments, and historic political events. The publication is regarded as an invaluable reference source for scholars and researchers in political science, history, and public administration.
Speaking at the event, Brijesh Singh said, “This digital transformation will make Maharashtra’s policy evolution, administrative journey, and historical footprints instantly accessible to readers worldwide. The issues will soon be available on Google and other digital platforms as well.”
He added that digitisation will enable a wider and more inclusive study of Maharashtra’s socio-political timeline, bringing historic archival content to students, researchers, journalists, and citizens.
With this step into the digital era, Lokrajya is expected to reach a global audience and preserve Maharashtra’s documentary legacy for future generations.
