Nagpur: In a major relief for journalists covering the upcoming Winter Session of the Maharashtra Legislature, the Secretariat has decided to provide comprehensive live broadcast access to the proceedings of both the Vidhan Sabha and the Vidhan Parishad for the first time. The move is expected to significantly ease the difficulties faced by media personnel due to limited seating space in the press gallery and increasing numbers of reporters.
The announcement was made during an important meeting held in Nagpur on Saturday, chaired by Assembly Secretary Vilas Athawale. The meeting was attended by Maharashtra Shramik Patrakar Sangh President Pradeep Maitra, Nagpur Shramik Patrakar Sangh President Brahmashankar Tripathi, General Secretary Anupam Soni, and other office-bearers.
Key facilities for media access:
• Special live-streaming link for every accredited journalist
• Full access to proceedings via mobile devices
• Permission to download approved portions through YouTube and other official platforms
• Facility open to all accredited media representatives
Officials said that this initiative will make the coverage of the Winter Session faster, more transparent, and technologically advanced. The Secretariat stated that the service will provide substantial relief and support to journalists reporting on legislative developments.
