Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will operate special bus services on December 6 to facilitate the movement of devotees visiting Shantivan Chicholi on the occasion of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Mahaparinirvan Diwas, officials announced.
To manage the expected heavy footfall, NMC will run additional buses between Mor Bhavan and Shantivan Chicholi from 7 am to 8 pm. The decision was taken following a request from the Engineer Buddhist Council, which sought enhanced transport arrangements for visitors attending the commemorative programmes.

NMC has instructed its transport operator, Chalo, to ensure adequate frequency of buses throughout the day in order to prevent traffic congestion, particularly on the Chicholi route where large crowds are anticipated.
Authorities have urged citizens to use public transport instead of private vehicles to help reduce road congestion and ensure smooth travel. The civic body appealed for public cooperation to maintain a safe and orderly observance of the day dedicated to Dr Ambedkar’s memory.
