
Nagpur: Para-swimming legend Kanchanmala Pande of Nagpur has once again successfully defended her title and extended her unparalleled legacy in the pool.
Competing at the 25th National Para Swimming Championship in Hyderabad, Pande secured an incredible three gold medals, marking her 25th consecutive National Championship victory. This extraordinary quarter century of dominance is a rare feat in Indian sports, highlighting Pande’s unwavering commitment as a world-class athlete.
Kanchanmala Pande (S11 category), a Class-I Officer with the Reserve Bank of India, demonstrated her mastery in the water by clinching gold 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke events. “I am overwhelmed with joy and gratitude. To reach 25 national titles is a dream realised through years of relentless effort. These medals belong to my entire team who made it possible,” Kanchanmala said.
Kanchanmala trains at Aqua Sports Club and practises under Dr Pravin Lamkhade (NSNIS, Patiala) and Vishal Chandurkar (ASCA Level-5 Coach). She thanked her family members, coaches and well-wishers for her success.
