Nagpur: Besa–Pipla Road, unveiled in 2022 as an 80-ft “model commercial corridor,” remains incomplete and severely damaged. Despite becoming a bustling hub with brands like Zudio, McDonald’s, AM Cinema, D-Mart, and multiple upscale townships, the arterial road is still scarred with potholes, leaning electric poles, dust, and heavy traffic snarls.
Public anger escalated after a recent fatal accident, raising renewed questions about the administration’s failure to complete basic infrastructure while private development races ahead.
In a Nagpur Today ground report, reporter Radhika Gupta visited the site and spoke to Shashank Gattewar, an active youth citizen who has been vocal about civic neglect. Gattewar questioned why a road generating such high tax and commercial revenue remains ignored by authorities and demanded a clear, time-bound plan for its completion.
The ground situation highlights a stark contrast: booming private investment on one side, crumbling public infrastructure on the other.
