
Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur successfully conducted the Junior Scientist event under AXIS’26, Central India’s largest technical festival. The event, held on 26th October, 2nd November, and 5th November, witnessed an overwhelming participation of over 2000 students from more than 150 schools across the region, representing Classes 5 to 12.
The inauguration was graced by Mr. Sarang Upganlawar, Founder and CEO of ICAD, and Lt. Col. Narendra Tripathi, alumnus of IIT Kanpur and IIM Indore, as the chief guests. Dean (Students Activities and Sports) Prof. Gali Hemachandra and Associate Dean (Hostel Affairs) Prof. R. P. Vijayakumar also attended the event and appreciated the initiative.
The event featured seven engaging competitions — Catapultikon, Mathamaze, Junior Science Olympiad, Exquizite, MUN, Arduino Expo, and Modelothon — designed to nurture scientific curiosity, analytical thinking, and innovation among young minds.
The successful execution of Junior Scientist was guided by the professor in-charges of AXIS’26 — Prof. Nikhil Deep Gupta, Prof. Amit Padade, and Prof. Nitin Lautre. Junior Scientist 2025 served as a vibrant platform where budding innovators explored technology and science through creativity and competition, truly reflecting the spirit of AXIS, Central India’s premier celebration of technology and innovation.
