
Nagpur: The Orange City has scripted a new chapter in its sporting history with the launch of the Nagpur Golf League (NGL), the first-ever team-based golf league in the region. The inaugural season teed off at the iconic Nagpur Golf Course, featuring 60 enthusiastic golfers from across the city competing in a dynamic and competitive format that promises to elevate the sport’s profile in Central India.
The NGL is being played in the exciting Greensome Match Play format, where four dynamic teams are battling it out for top honors, blending strategy, skill, and teamwork to deliver thrilling golf action. The four competing teams include LA Stingers, owned by Aditya Sarda and Lav Bajaj, Fairway Falcons, owned by Tushar Khurana and Manuj Singh, Samavi Squad (Hem Thakkar & Swapnil Munde) and RJ Pinseekers (Raju Sharma & Jigar Deshmukh).
Speaking on the successful launch, Tushar Khurana, Lav Bajaj, Aditya Sarda and Manuj Singh said, “With 60 golfers participating, the Nagpur Golf League is a celebration of the growing golf culture in our city. It’s inspiring to see the enthusiasm and sportsmanship on display as a true reflection of Nagpur’s vibrant sporting spirit.”
The Nagpur Golf League aims to promote the game at both competitive and community levels, offering a platform for golfers of all backgrounds to showcase their talent. The coming weeks promise more high-energy matches and unforgettable golfing moments at NGL.
RJ Pinseekers in leading position
The first week’s matches featured LA Stingers vs Fairway Falcons and Samavi Squad vs RJ Pinseekers, with the teams showing great competitive spirit and camaraderie. After an exciting opening round RJ Pinseekers were leading by 11 points followed by LA Stingers (9), Fairway Falcons (5), Samavi Squad (3).
