Nagpur: Prahar Janshakti Party leader and MLA Bacchu Kadu has intensified his sit-in protest in Nagpur, demanding a complete farm loan waiver for farmers. The agitation, which began on October 28, entered its second day on Tuesday and grew more aggressive.
The Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court has taken suo motu cognizance of the inconvenience caused to commuters due to the protest. The court has ordered Bacchu Kadu and his supporters to vacate the protest site by 6 p.m. today.
However, Kadu has refused to comply, taking a defiant stand against the order. “Put me in jail if you want, but I will not back down until the demands are met. We are fighting for farmers, and the government is trying to suppress us,” he declared.
In a fiery outburst, Kadu lashed out at the authorities, saying, “You are cowards! You hide behind the court — a bunch of spineless people!” He further warned that “there won’t be enough jails to hold us — we are ready for arrest, and we will even take control of Ramgiri (the CM’s official residence) if needed.”
Meanwhile, police officials have served Kadu a copy of the court’s order. The administration remains on high alert to prevent escalation, and heavy police deployment has been placed at the protest site. The atmosphere in the area remains tense, with both farmers and commuters watching developments closely.
