Gadkari’s Janata Darbar in Nagpur receives slew of complaints

Nagpur: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, received a flood of petitions during his Janata Darbar at Khamla Square in Nagpur. Senior citizens, persons with disabilities and women submitted requests for benefits under various Government schemes.

Officials from the District Collector’s office, Nagpur Municipal Corporation, Nagpur Improvement Trust, and other departments were present. Gadkari instructed immediate action on the submissions, handing over relevant applications to concerned officers from departments such as Land Records, Social Welfare, CRC Centre, Municipal Surveyor, Police, Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Chief Minister’s Relief Cell, and MSEDCL.

He also directed officials to expedite provision of artificial limbs to disabled persons under Central and State schemes and to ensure prompt relief to patients applying to the CM’s Relief Fund. A group of youths demonstrated a battery-operated tricycle that converts into a wheelchair, widely used by disabled persons for delivery work. Gadkari appreciated their innovation and offered guidance.

Nilkanth Pathak from Akola proposed forming an ‘Agricultural Army’ to protect farmlands, drawing parallels with the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Gadkari praised the concept. Eighty four-year-old Baldev Chawla, who walks 14 km daily, also met the minister, earning admiration for his fitness and past walking feats of 22 and 42 km in a single day.
