Nagpur: In a shocking case of negligence, a contractor has turned the Kalmeshwar-Katol Road into a virtual death trap by carelessly placing a concrete block right in the middle of the road. The poorly lit stretch, already known for its darkness, has now become extremely dangerous for motorists due to this reckless act.
The consequences of this carelessness were evident on the night of June 24, when a car collided with the concrete block and was badly damaged. The front portion of the car was completely crushed due to the impact, highlighting the life-threatening risk posed by the block.

Disturbed by the incident, motorists have come forward to expose the contractor’s negligence. A video recorded by the affected vehicle owners shows the concrete block placed right in the middle of the poorly illuminated road, making it nearly invisible to approaching vehicles, especially at night.
Locals and commuters have demanded strict action against the contractor, holding him responsible for risking lives through such negligence. They have also urged the concerned authorities to immediately remove the concrete block and ensure proper safety measures on the road to prevent such incidents in the future.
An official response from the contractor or the authorities is still awaited.
