Nagpur: With civic election preparations gaining momentum, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has initiated a significant reshuffle within its engineering department. After a long pause, a major round of transfers and postings was carried out on Wednesday, affecting over 80 engineers across various levels.
A total of 5 Executive Engineers, 3 Deputy Engineers, and 12 Junior Engineers have been transferred. In addition, 7 Executive Engineers, 32 newly promoted Deputy Engineers, and 29 Junior Engineers have received fresh postings, some after prolonged waits following their promotions.

Officials said the transfers and postings were based on performance evaluations. Those whose work was found unsatisfactory were shifted out, while some officers were relieved of additional charges. Engineers who were performing efficiently in their assigned roles have now been given permanent postings in the same departments.
Promotions and postings
Among the 32 engineers promoted from Junior to Deputy Engineer rank, the following key postings have been made:
• Shweta Dandekar – Deputy Engineer, Architecture & Advertisement Dept.
• Vaijayanti Aade – Deputy Engineer, Town Planning
• Abhijit Netam – Laxmi Nagar Zone
• UG Khandate – Enforcement Dept.
• Raju Gautam – Deputy Engineer, Project-2
• Ravi Mange – Drainage Dept. (HQ)
• Jitendra Sahare – SRA Cell
• Devendra Bhovate – Lakadganj Zone
All other newly promoted engineers have also been assigned to their respective departments. Additionally, 29 Junior Engineers have received new placements across zones.
Junior Engineer transfers across zones
Twelve Junior Engineers were transferred from one zone to another. Key changes include:
• D.R. Tekam – Hanuman Nagar to Dhantoli Zone
• Pundalik Dhore – Dhantoli to Dharampeth Zone
• Arun Pethewar – Slum Dept. to Dharampeth
• Ashish Talewar – Hotmix Plant to Town Planning
• Manish Bhoyar – Nehru Nagar to Town Planning
• A.M. Mankar – Gandhibagh to PWD HQ
• Kamalakar Rajurkar – Sataranjipura to Lakadganj
• Purushottam Pandey – Laxmi Nagar to DPDC Cell
• Rahul Rokde – Hotmix Plant to Education Dept.
• Vinod Waje – Sataranjipura to Hanuman Nagar
• Pradeep Hole – Sataranjipura to Central Quality Control
• Jyoti Kubde – Central QC to Town Planning
Executive and Deputy Engineer transfers
As per orders issued under the directive of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Abhijit Chaudhari, the following Executive Engineers have been transferred:
• Manoj Singh – from Hanuman Nagar Zone to Education Dept.
• Vijay Gurubakshani – from Dharampeth to Hanuman Nagar Zone
• Sachin Rakshamwar – from Gandhibagh to Lakadganj Zone
• Sanjay Mate – from Lakadganj to Public Health Engineering (Drainage), HQ
• Pankaj Parashar – from Architecture to HQ under Chief Engineer
Three Deputy Engineers were also transferred:
• Anand Mokhade – from Town Planning to Hanuman Nagar
• Pravin Agarkar – from Hanuman Nagar to DPDC South
• Mangesh Gedam – from Town Planning to DPDC West
The reshuffle comes at a crucial time when the civic body is gearing up for the municipal elections, and the administration appears keen on strengthening its engineering machinery by placing the right people in the right posts.
