Nagpur: Additional Sessions Judge R S Pavaskar in Nagpur on Thursday sentenced Vijay Kawduji Jadhav to life imprisonment for killing a youth at Gondkhairi in Kalmeshwar taluka.
According to the prosecution, Vijay Jadhav (33), a resident of Gondkhairi, taluka Kalmeshwar, had a doubt that Aakash Gulab Tonge (20) was having an affair with his wife. Around 11.46 pm on September 17, 2019, he called Aakash to his house and tried to strangle him with a nylon rope. He banged his head on the floor and then killed him with a sword.
Kalmeshwar Police arrested Jadhav on charges under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code following a complaint lodged by Dashrath Tonge. The then Assistant Police Inspector Rajiv Karmalwar investigated the case and chargesheeted the accused. As the charges were proved against Jadhav, the court sentenced him to life imprisonment with a fine of Rs 10,000.
