Nagpur: In a tragic incident under Koradi Police Station, a gay man has been arrested after allegedly killing his partner following a verbal spat. The incident took place in the early hours of Thursday in village Khapri, leading to the arrest of the accused, Sandeep Chandrabhan Gondane (23), by Koradi Police.
The victim, Ghanshyam Ganpat Sirsam (45), hailed from village Vijaypani in the Kurai taluka of Seoni district, Madhya Pradesh. Sirsam had been employed by Naresh Divtuji Dehure, a resident of Waregaon, taluka Kamptee, to tend his cattle at a dairy farm in village Khapri. After completing his duties of grazing the cows and buffaloes, Sirsam would sleep in the cattle shed.
According to police sources, Gondane would frequently visit the cattle shed to meet Sirsam. On the fateful Thursday morning, Gondane arrived to meet Sirsam, and both individuals consumed alcohol. However, the situation took a drastic turn when Sirsam allegedly sodomized Gondane and began verbally abusing him. In a fit of rage, Gondane lost control and attacked Sirsam with a heavy and blunt object, resulting in his death. Gondane then fled the scene.
The dairy farm owner, Naresh Divtuji Dehure, discovered Sirsam’s lifeless and semi-nude body in a pool of blood while on a morning walk. He immediately informed the police, who promptly arrived at the location. The body was subsequently sent to Mayo Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Following a complaint lodged by Gautam Yograj Barmate (45), Koradi Police registered a case against Gondane under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. Gondane was taken into custody for further investigation.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety and well-being of individuals within the LGBTQ+ community. Authorities are urged to address the issue and ensure the protection of marginalized groups, fostering an environment of inclusivity and acceptance.
