Nagpur: Bajajnagar Police have arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly raping a nine-year-old girl and threatening her with dire consequences here on April 28, police said on Monday.
Based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, cops have arrested the accused identified as Dinesh Pratap Killare, a resident of Bajajnagar.
According to police sources, the victim’s mother had gone to work on Apirl 28, when accused Killare took the victim to an isolated place and raped her. He also threatened her with dire consequences if she narrates anything to her parents.
However, when the complainant returned home, the victim narrated her ordeal to her mother. To her misery, the victim’s seven-year-old friend also informed the complainant that a similar incident had occurred with her by the accused too.
Taken aback by these horrific incidents, the complainant approached Bajajnagar Police Station with a complaint.
An offence under Sections 376, 376(2), 506 of the IPC read with Sections 4,8,12 POCSO Act was registered against the accused. Further investigations are on.
